Digital Pictures to Keep your Local Band Web Site Fresh - Band Shots
By James Blakely
Now that you have a camera, Its time to update band shots for your site. Most local bands can't afford frequent photo shoots. I have seen band shots that have two old members that quit the band a year before. We can avoid that by just spending a day a month after practice getting some new pictures. These pictures will only be used for your site.

Location is the important factor for a photo shoot. You need to pick locations that are interesting. Great locations for a shoot are city streets, the woods, or steps of an old building. Try to find a location that projects the attitude of your band.

Another good place for a photo shoot is band practice. You are trying to sell a lifestyle. People want to feel closer to the band. Let them in on your private space.

Try to stay away from family style photos. You want to look cutting edge. Try not to give the impression that you are just like everyone else.

Cultivate an attitude that will be envied by your listeners. This is your career. You need to put on your uniform and go to work. Your music is yours and can be as personal as you want. Your overall reputation is your bands store front. Make it as appealing as possible for your customer to come in and buy.

Photos need to have this attitude.

Lets look at getting these pictures to the web.
