Multi Track Recorder - 4 Track Mixers To Build Your Music Skills
By James Blakely
Once you really start learning your instrument, and feel that you're ready to start getting band members, multi track recoders are a necessity. They allow you to hear yourself without the distraction of creating the music. You can hear what you really sound like unbiased by the recorder.

4 track recorders or 4 track mixers are excellent for people just starting to record themselves. They are quite inexpensive and produce pretty good quality. You can find some great deals on muti track recorders at eBay. I like to purchase a lot of my music equipment there. You can always find some good stuff at a really discounted price, new and used.

If you just trust buying from a retail store then I suggest Music123.com. I have had really good experiences with them.

I suggest getting a 4 track recorder first. There are usually a lot of models to chose from, and they give you more flexibility than the 2 tracks will. You really don't need the power of anything larger at first either. You need to get the basics of a multi track recorder down before going to the more expensive 8 tracks.

Multi track recorders will help you learn how to play in time with other instruments. It allows you to practice your timing. After hours of trying to lay down multiple tracks to create a song you really start to learn how instruments work together in real time.

I would also suggest looking into getting a drum machine if you don't have a drummer. You can pick up used ones at ebay for a real good price. They will help you learn playing in strict time which you need to learn for playing in bands.
