The Army of Me band site has a simple design. You are not greeted by any splash screens or crazy things flying around. The site is just what it is, an information site about the band.

Usability - 8
The site has a nice clean navigation. You don't have to guess where you are going from click to click. The text is clearly readable. There are no issues of readability due to color contrast of text and background. I also didn't incounter any 404 pages as I moved through the site. I would rather not have so many IFrames on the pages though. Double scrolling for one page becomes confusing and frustrating.

Design - 8
The site takes a basic design quality. Instead of trying to add fireworks and eye candy, the site is interested in the content. I think the design works well for the site, using the contrast of black and white to make a statement.

Functionality- 10
The site has really all of the necessities of an indie band site and more. It contains a forum, mp3s, newsletter signup, merchandise, bio, contact information, upcoming shows, and photos. All of the functionality is easy to find and use. It has everything a person looking for information about the band would need.

Effectiveness - 9
I found this site to be very effective in letting me know who the band was and what music they produce. I think the forums are a great place for their fans to get closer to the band.

Updates - 10
The site has had many updates this year. I would be inclined to comeback at a later date to see what is going on. The information is not outdated and old info is archived, but not used as current.

The site is elegant in its simplicity. The creator felt no need to draw your attention away from the band. The site is clear and achieves its goal, to give information on the Internet about Army of Me.
