The Jadestone website is simplistic in design.
It mimics the cover art of their album.
It works to give people information about the band, but is a little to stripped down to give the user a reason to return.
Usability - 9
The site is useable.
The issue that did bother me is the page transitions.
Page transitions slow down my surfing and are generally an annoyance.
Besides that it is easy to navigate and read.
Design - 6
The design is very basic.
It makes the site look like it was thrown together quickly.
I do see a correlation between the album design and the website, but it is a slim one.
Functionality 9
The site has all the needed ingredients for a successful indie band site.
It is missing a forum, but it fulfills its function without it.
Overall the functionality is good.
Effectiveness - 9
It definitely gets the job done.
It serves well as an online press pack.
It answered all the question I had about the band, and that is what really matters.
Updates - 10
It seemed to be updated regularly.
Pictures of past shows didn't look like they were from the seventies.
One thing I like about the site were the email addresses of the band members.
The ability to contact the band members assures the freshness of the site.
The site does perform all of the necessary functions.
I would like to see a little more time spent on the design itself.
